Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 1st March 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the [App Name] platform and services (“Platform”), operated by DataInsight International (Pvt) Ltd (“Service Provider”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
These Terms constitute a tri-party agreement between:
The User – any student, alumni, faculty, staff, or individual accessing the Platform (“User”, “you”).
The University – the institution that licenses or authorizes the use of the Platform for its community (“University”).
The Service Provider – DataInsight International (Pvt) Ltd, the developer and operator of the Platform.
By creating an account or accessing the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Purpose of the Platform
The Platform provides universities with a digital ecosystem that enables:
Community interaction between students, alumni, and staff
Academic schedule and calendar access
Messaging and communication
Department and organization pages
Alumni engagement and career tracking
Institutional analytics and insights
The Platform is intended for official university community engagement and communication purposes.
2. Eligibility
Users must:
Be affiliated with the University as a student, alumni, staff member, or authorized individual
Authenticate using approved methods such as:
University email authentication
Microsoft authentication
Institutional API-based verification
Any authentication system approved by the University
The University is responsible for determining who is eligible to access the Platform.
3. Account Responsibilities
Users agree to:
Provide accurate information when creating a profile
Maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials
Keep academic and professional profile information truthful
Use the Platform in accordance with university policies
Users are responsible for all activities conducted through their account.
4. User Content
Users may post content including:
Text posts
Images
Profile information
Academic and professional experiences
Comments and interactions
By posting content, the User grants the Service Provider and the University a non-exclusive license to display, store, and process such content for the purpose of operating the Platform.
Users remain the owners of their content.
Users must not post:
Harassment or abusive content
Hate speech or discrimination
Illegal or fraudulent material
Pornographic or explicit material
Misleading or false information
Content that violates university policies
The Platform uses AI moderation and reporting tools to maintain a safe environment.
5. Moderation and Enforcement
Content moderation may be conducted by:
The Service Provider
The University
Automated moderation systems
The Service Provider and the University reserve the right to:
Remove content
Suspend accounts
Restrict platform access
Investigate violations
Violations may also be referred to the University for disciplinary action under university policies.
6. University Responsibilities
The University agrees to:
Ensure that users are properly authenticated
Provide accurate data integrations when applicable
Comply with applicable data protection laws
Manage internal policies related to student and staff behavior
Designate administrators for platform management
The University may use the Platform to:
Communicate with its community
Share official announcements
Manage departments, clubs, and institutional pages
Analyze community engagement and alumni outcomes
7. Data and Analytics
The Platform may collect and process information including:
User profile information
Academic program and batch data
Employment and career updates
This data may be used by the University for:
Alumni engagement
Employability analysis
Institutional research
Accreditation and ranking insights
Program evaluation
The Service Provider will process data only to provide and improve the Platform services.
Personal data will be handled according to the Privacy Policy.
8. Messaging and Communications
The Platform allows:
Direct messaging between users
Group conversations
University announcements
Users must not use messaging to:
Harass or threaten others
Send spam or unsolicited advertising
Share malicious links or harmful content
Messaging services are intended for community and academic purposes.
9. Privacy and Security
The Service Provider implements security measures to protect data including:
Secure authentication systems
Encrypted communications where applicable
Access control systems
Data protection practices
However, the Service Provider cannot guarantee that the Platform will be completely free from security breaches.
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own accounts.
10. Intellectual Property
All platform technology, software, design, and functionality remain the property of the Service Provider.
Users and Universities may not:
Reverse engineer the platform
Copy or redistribute platform software
Attempt to exploit system vulnerabilities
University logos and branding remain the property of the respective University.
11. Availability of Service
The Service Provider will make reasonable efforts to maintain platform availability.
However, services may be interrupted due to:
Maintenance
Technical failures
Security incidents
External system integrations
The Service Provider is not liable for temporary service interruptions.
12. Termination of Access
Access may be terminated by:
The User
Users may deactivate their account at any time.
The University
The University may revoke access for members who leave the institution.
The Service Provider
Accounts may be suspended for violations of these Terms.
Upon termination:
Platform access may be removed
Certain data may be retained as required by law or contractual obligations
13. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Service Provider shall not be liable for:
User-generated content
Interactions between users
Decisions made by the University using platform analytics
Indirect or consequential damages
14. Amendments to Terms
The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time.
Users and Universities will be notified of material changes through:
Platform notifications
Email communications
Website updates
Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the use of the Platform, or the relationship between the User, the University, and the Service Provider shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Sri Lanka, unless otherwise agreed in writing between the Service Provider and the University.
